Cycling is a sport for the free spirited. Long distance cycling is a sport that’s both challenging and yet extremely rewarding. It’s a sport that works the body and frees the mind. It’s an individual sport, but also a team sport in a sense.

Cycling becomes a team sport when you have fellow cyclists to cheer you on. It helps to have a strong biking community that encourages you to push yourself. Tulsa has had a strong cycling community for a long time, and this past weekend was one of the most exciting times for bicycle enthusiasts in Tulsa. This past weekend was the three-day Tulsa Tough cycling festival.

Tulsa Tough has three separate racing events, the all-ages Townie Race, the criterium races, and the 100 mile distance Gran Fondo rides which takes bikers on a course across the Tulsa metro. Tulsa Tough is sponsored by St. Francis Hospital. According to Tulsa Tough’s website, “Tulsa Tough delivers the full cycling experience to everyone from training wheel-toting toddlers to elite racers.” The event has grown from a small, local Tulsa biking race to a nationally anticipated bicycling festival, drawing attention across the country.

In the auto industry there’s one company that’s been gaining a lot of attention of its own….Buick.  Buick marked its best May, this past month, since 2005. Buick vehicles have caught the attention of American drivers with their stylish design and reliable, dependable driving performance. Buick can attribute its great sales numbers to 5 expectation models: the Buick LaCrosse, Buick Verano, Buick Enclave, Buick Encore, and the Buick Regal.

“Our strong product and advertising is translating into more new customers discovering what Buick has to offer,” said Henry Brown, dealer principal at Henry Brown Buick in Gilbert, Ariz., and co-chair of the Buick Dealer Council. “When many new customers come into the showroom, we get similar responses to the commercial. The brand has so much to offer and the customers are telling us they couldn’t be happier with the whole Buick experience.”

Leading the brand’s sales increase, the Encore posted a 114 percent retail and 113 percent total year-over-year growth. The 2014 Buick Encore is attracting Buick fans and non Buick fans alike, and there's a plethora of reasons why. According to Kelley Blue Book, “The 2014 Buick Encore SUV takes the division into uncharted waters, wading into a crowded pool of compact crossovers, but with a level of luxury and sophistication uncommon in this class.”

The 2014 Buick Encore is attracting adventure-loving, style-conscious young-professionals. We think the 2014 Buick Encore would be a great fit for any young-professional living in Oklahoma. And, for those who enjoy cycling, the Encore can be personalized with accessories to get you and your biking buddies to all the hot trails across Green Country. The 2014 Encore can be fitted with several bike carrying accessories including: a hitch-mounted bicycle carrier or a roof-mounted bicycle carrier.
